Biking has become very popular, especially in bigger cities, as an alternative to driving. Take advantage of these gorgeous days of summer by scheduling your next team meeting or corporate event outside. Whether it’s hosting a cookout, company picnic, or renting a tent for the next company meeting, using outdoor company space is a great way to boost team morale. Build in a company friendly cookout for lunch or allow team rotation for a “company grill session,” this not only gets your employees outside, but allows your team a chance to network and mingle among other colleagues they may not see during the work day. This will not only engage your employees during the work day, but will refocus and re-energize them to keep up the good work!

Volunteer work increases during the summer.
Charity and community events increase ten fold during summer months and more companies are asking their employees to engage in community activities or participate on boards. If you would like to see more “extra curricular” activities from your team, lend them a hand by providing flexibility during summer work schedules to accommodate these events. You can also get the entire team involved by participating with chapters like the Boys and Girls Club of America or Habitat for Humanity. Giving back to the community is a great way to spend a Friday and gives you a chance to exercise some great team building techniques.
